[Asia Union Times Comprehensive Report] On the morning of the 21st, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, in Siem Reap Province, expressed his condolences to the residents who voluntarily relocated from the Angkor heritage area, and declared that all politicians who cut ties with the former chairman of the National Rescue Party Shen Liangxi will be pardoned by the Cambodian government. and return to the political arena.
Hun Sen emphasized that he has the right to apply for a pardon from the king, but the condition is that those politicians who are in the company of Shen Liangxi must have nothing to do with Shen Liangxi.
Hun Sen also specifically warned that political parties that had contacts with or were manipulated by Shen Liangxi would be disbanded, and those involved would not escape prison.
He said that Shen Liangxi has repeatedly called on the army to defect in an attempt to overthrow the current regime, so this scourge must be eradicated.
Hun Sen's remarks mean that he is determined to kill Shen Liangxi's political career. Recently, Shen Liangxi was convicted by a Phnom Penh court of "attempting to cede territory to a foreign country" and sentenced to life imprisonment. In response to the court's judgment on Shen Liangxi, Hun Sen also reiterated that he would not apply to the king for a pardon of Shen Liangxi again. He also proposed an "isolation strategy" aimed at preventing Shen Liangxi's political career from being reborn.
On October 19, a Phnom Penh court found Shen Liangxi guilty of "attempting to cede territory to a foreign country", sentenced him to life imprisonment, and deprived him of his political rights for life.
At present, Shen Liangxi is still in exile and living in France for a long time, but his political activities are still in progress, which has a negative impact on the current Cambodian government, so the Cambodian government headed by Hun Sen has to take corresponding measures and strategies.
