Cambodia and Timor-Leste sign rice trade and aviation cooperation, deepening traditional friendship between the two countries

[Asia Union Times Comprehensive Report] Timor-Leste President Horta promised to promote the aviation and trade cooperation between Timor-Leste and Cambodia and deepen the traditional friendship between the two countries.
On the afternoon of October 20, Horta, who was on a state visit to Cambodia, said this when he met with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.
Hun Sen welcomed the cooperation between Cambodia and East Asia in the fields of aviation and trade. He said that on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Timor-Leste this year, the signing of the air transport cooperation agreement between the two countries is of great significance. He hoped that the two countries will promote the opening of direct flights.
Hun Sen encouraged East Timorese companies to invest in rice drying plants and rice milling plants in Cambodia to export rice directly to East Timor. At the same time, he also encouraged the two countries to promote education and defense cooperation.
After the talks, Cambodia and Timor-Leste signed two cooperation documents in the presence of Hun Sen and Horta, namely the Memorandum of Understanding on Rice Trade Cooperation between Cambodia and Timor-Leste, and the Air Transport Cooperation Agreement between the two governments of Cambodia and Timor-Leste.
Horta is on a state visit to Cambodia from October 19 to 21 at the invitation of Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni.
It is understood that after Horta arrived in Cambodia on the 19th, he met with Cambodian future prime minister candidate Hong Mane.
The Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that Horta's state visit to Cambodia is aimed at further strengthening and deepening the relationship and cooperation between the two countries within bilateral and multilateral frameworks, so as to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results between the two countries.
