[Asia Union Times Comprehensive Report] Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Su Qing said that online gambling is harmful to Cambodia, not only fails to bring benefits to Cambodia, but damages Cambodia's reputation and brings shame to the country.
During his condolences to the officers of the National Police Academy on the 19th, Su Qing talked about illegal gambling, including online gambling for foreigners and cockfighting and rain gambling that Cambodian locals love.

He said that Cambodian locals are not familiar with online gambling, and gamblers generally come from foreigners such as China, Thailand, and Malaysia.
He emphasized that online gambling not only failed to bring benefits to the country, but caused more damage to the country and society, that is, causing kidnapping, extortion, shooting and other illegal crimes, disrupting public order and safety, and making foreign investors and tourists more vulnerable to Cambodia. The sense of fear has seriously damaged Cambodia's reputation both regionally and internationally, bringing shame to the country.
However, Su Qing pointed out that Cambodia will resolutely crack down on illegal crimes such as online gambling and fraud, restore the country's reputation, and attract investors and tourists who contribute to the healthy development of the economy and society.
