Song Solita, deputy secretary-general and spokesman of the Cambodian National Election Preparatory Committee, revealed that the seventh parliamentary election (national election), scheduled to be held in July next year, is expected to cost more than $50 million in budget and may not receive foreign aid. , which means that the Cambodian government must bear the full budget.
He said that in the upcoming government budget for next year, the government plans to allocate $50.3 million as funds for holding next year's national elections. Compared with the last general election (2018), the budget for next year's general election has increased by 28.97%.

In addition, the Cambodian government will also provide an additional budget of about 10 million US dollars for new voter registration and inspection of the voter roll-related work, so the total funding for next year's general election will exceed 60 million US dollars.
It is understood that the number of voters in the 2018 general election was 8.3 million, and the number of voters in the general election next year will exceed 10 million.
The seventh general election will be held on July 23 (Sunday) next year, and the campaign period will run from July 1 to 21. The Election Commission is expected to announce the preliminary vote count results on July 24.
